Women in the Arts, season 4
We are glad to announce the launch of season 4 of our podcast “Women in the Arts”! This year, you will hear about artists in breaking, photography, sculpture, theatre, and music: what a rich program! Maybe it’s time to do a little recap about the podcast?
Each year, we celebrate women’s rights on the 8th of March, the International Women’s Day. In relation to this day, the Université Clermont-Auvergne created the “Month of Equality and Fights Against Discriminations” (“le mois de l’égalité et des luttes contres les discriminations”), during which the university organises several actions and projects to shed a light on minorities and on the fights lead to gain rights and to change people’s mentalities. It is in this context that the podcast saw the light of the day!
Originally, this podcast is a project of students from the master’s degree Direction de Projets ou Établissements Culturels, in order to bear upon brilliant but relatively unknown women from the art and culture world. Each student chooses a woman or theme related to gender that she or he wants to talk about, then we all write and record each episode. This homemade podcast has been a little bit upgraded by the opening of the KAP since there is now a room dedicated to the recording of podcasts and radio shows!
Three seasons have already been created, this year marks the launch of the fourth season. The programme includes five episodes, each with a completely different theme. The diversity of themes and artistic genres we deal with is an important point of the project.
We record the podcast in English since we are all members of the international branch of our master’s degree. We also are in charge of the promotion of the podcast. In this respect, each year an event is organised to celebrate the launch of the new season. This year, the event will take place at the Crous Dolet, but this will be the subject of another article…
All the seasons of the podcast are available on the UCA website, among the articles concerning the UFR Lettres, Culture et Sciences Humaines. What are you waiting for?
